In general, I use technical analysis to formulate my opinions of market direction. I typically use moving averages and parabolics in my analysis of the futures markets. The eye is always on money management and minimizing risk, which can be substantial as volatility is at extremely high levels. I was a professor at UCLA extension for 10 years where I was teaching classes on trading commodities. The class involved students in actually experienced live trading.
When trading commodities there is great value to having a qualified IB. With our world today futures consistently trade in fast markets. Many times there are margin or delivery issues. It will save great dollars having a qualified IB. In addition it always pays for that experienced opinion.
There is a risk of loss in trading futures and options. Loss of more than your investment is possible. Futures trading is not appropriate for all investors. The world has now made Micro Bitcoin Futures available.
